Tuesdays With Morrie by Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom

Workshop Theatre and Childs & Halligan, LLC, are proud to present the Columbia premiere of Mitch Albom’s Tuesdays With Morrie, opening May 16 at 8:00 p.m.

Co-authored by Jeffrey Hatcher and directed by Jocelyn Sanders, Tuesdays With Morrie stars Robert Triplett as Morrie and Lee Smith as Mitch.

A constant on The New York Times Bestseller List for more than four years with more than five million copies sold and an Emmy-winning television film presented by Oprah Winfrey, Tuesdays With Morrie is the autobiographical story of Mitch Albom, an accomplished journalist driven solely by his career, and Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor.

Sixteen years after graduation, Mitch happens to catch Morrie's appearance on a television news program and learns that his old professor is battling ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Mitch is reunited with Morrie and what starts as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a last class in the meaning of life.

Albom is the author of nine books, including the newest, For One More Day, and his first, The Five People You Meet in Heaven. A nationally syndicated columnist for the Detroit Free Press and a nationally syndicated radio host for ABC, Albom has, for more than a decade, been named the top sports columnist in the nation. Co-author Jeffrey Hatcher’s plays have been produced by major theatres in the U.S. and abroad. He wrote Scotland Road, produced by Workshop in the late 1990s.

Tuesdays With Morrie features scenic design by Randy Strange, lighting design by Barry Sparks and sound design by Chuck Sightler. Pam Johnson is the producer and Diane Moore is the stage manager.

The Reviews Are In!

"...we are left with the feeling that we too have had the chance and privilege to know Morrie Schwartz, even if just for a few hours, and our lives are better for it." -- August Krickel, Onstage Columbia [Click here to read the full review]
