Broadway Bound
Auditions for Workshop's 2008-2009 Broadway Bound Musical Theatre Company (ages 5 to 18) will be held during four "Monday Masters" workshops this summer. These sessions will provide young performers with the chance to take "master classes" in dance for musical theatre, voice voice – and fun – with Dedra Daniels Mount, Lou Warth and Brian Scott Vaughan!
The sessions will be offered July 7, 14, 21 & 28.
Classes are open to all levels of experience and ability. No two sessions will be alike, so aspiring performers can sign up for one session – or all four – it’s up to you!
The schedule for each Monday will be: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 (ages 7-11, $25); 12:15 to 1:00 p.m. (ages 5-6, $12); and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. (ages 12-18, $35). (While walk-ins are welcome, an additional $5 will be charged for participants who register on the day of the session.)
ReWired
Students in Grades 7-12 who wish to join the 2008-2009 edition of Workshop's improv comedy team have the opportunity to audition on two remaining Saturdays – May 10 and June 7 – from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The audition takes the form of "Make 'Em Laugh," a class that provides training in improv and sketch comedy. Cost for the workshop is $30.
Under the direction of Vicky Saye Henderson, the members of ReWired receive high-quality, intensive improv and sketch comedy training; participate in showcases at Workshop Theatre; perform for groups and festivals around the Midlands and statewide; and work on filmed sketches that can be shown on the “big screen.”
Workshop reserves the right to remove participants from any camps or classes due to behavior problems.
