Private Acting

Introduction to the Business of Acting and On Camera Auditioning

Target Audience: Students of High school age and above
Time: October 5, 12, 19 & 26, 2020
Time: 6:30 - 7:30, Four 1-hour sessions
Registration Deadline: October 2, 2020
Tuition: $75
Description: Interested in acting professionally but don't know where to start? This class is for you!

We'll cover the basics of the business, what to look for in a headshot, how to do a beginning acting resume, what you should look for in an agent, and how to pursue work on your own until you get an agent.

You will learn not only the basics of slating, commercial, and tv/film auditioning, but also get to practice in front of the camera and view your work. Getting used to seeing yourself and your work on camera is a vital part of learning the business.

This is a small, first come, first serve class. Maximum of 6 people. Social distancing will be practiced and when students are not on camera, masks are required.

We'll cover this in 4, 1-hour sessions. The class is open to students of High school age and above.

Kashaad is excited to join Workshop Theatre's staff as the Education Director! He has taken part in a few shows with Workshop, with The Boys In The Band & A Raisin in The Sun being among his favorites. He has a degree in Theatre Performance from Winthrop University and is excited to bring his skill set to the Workshop Theatre staff.
